India lifts export ban on anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine

India has lifted the export ban on anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, which was touted by US President Donald Trump as a potential "game-changer" in the fight against coronavirus, a minister confirmed to news agency Reuters on Thursday.


"Department of Pharmaceuticals has approved the lifting of ban on Export of Hydroxychloroquine API as well as formulations," Minister for chemicals and fertilizers, Sadananda Gowda said.
