India Surpasses 1 Lakh Coronavirus Infected Cases

With India entering lockdown 4.0 the country is witnessing a sharp spike in the coronavirus infected cases. The number of infected cases in the country surged to past 1 lakh with 4970 new cases in the past 24 hours. According to The Health Ministry,  the number of active cases in India jumped to 58,302, while 3,163 people have died so far.In the past 24 hours, 134 people lost there battle to the pandemic. On the positive side, the number of recoveries also rose to 39, 174 with 2,340 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

India is the latest entrant to the club of nations with more than one lakh cases—U.S. leading with over 15 lakh cases, followed by Russia with more than 2.9 lakh cases. Brazil’s cases topped U.K.’s today, taking the third position with more than 2.5 lakh cases.
